Ooo---oOo---ooO
Ossa was one of the original programs who populated the system that would become the Free Grid, working at the End of Line under Zuse, later Castor, and much later Eckert when the less lecherous Emcee took over command there. She rarely leaves the EOL building, living in one of the provided domains below the club.
Compared to most other programs on the Free Grid, Ossa has led a quiet life, or so she assumes. Although she managed to escape the destruction of the club on both occasions simply by virtue of being off-shift, the waitress was not completely untouched by events that occurred under Clu’s reign. During the period of most unrest between the Basics and ISOs, Zuse implemented a no-disks policy for his waitstaff, intending to make the EOL a safe, anonymous haven for patrons seeking to escape the turmoil outside. Unfortunately, some of the staff waited too long to return their disks to dock, erasing more than just the temporary memories of that millicycle’s shift.
Even after Eckert reinstated disks to be worn on-duty, Ossa never fully recovered from the constant glitching and memory wipes that came with leaving her disk undocked for so long. Her disk no longer synchs as well to her system, so it can be difficult for Ossa to recall small details, forgetting names or faces or even the location of her apartment – although her connection to the EOL ensures she never forgets a patron’s order.
Afflicted by this amnesia, she can only guess as to what her life was like before the Reintegration. Despite this, Ossa remains upbeat and friendly, with a rational, positive outlook on life and a no-nonsense attitude for ruffians. Her missing memories don’t seem to really bother her; why fret over something you can’t remember missing in the first place?
